Join the Sust! Retreat gang in Turkey, 3rd– 9th October 2020 for a healthy hiking holiday like no other. A winning combination of stunning coastal and pine forest hikes, daily yoga and Pilates classes, delicious plant-based Turkish food, eco-accommodation, crystal clear snorkelling, cultural excursions to ancient ruins, boat trip to secluded paradise cove and a couple of secret surprises. An unforgettable, life-affirming health retreat guaranteed to sky-rocket your fitness levels, stretch and nourish your body, relax your mind and nurture your spirit.
The Lycian Way is one of Turkey’s most popular hiking routes and is considered one of the most beautiful walking trails in the world. Undulating through ancient pine forests with spectacular views of the dramatic Mediterranean coastline, the trail passes through rugged mountains dotted with olive trees, wildflowers and fragrant herbs. Pristine, turquoise swim holes, mountain spring waterfalls and hidden beaches offer numerous swim and rest opportunities.
Steeped in history and culture, The Lycian Way exudes a timeless, otherworldly energy, taking hikers on a profound journey through crumbling, abandoned settlements and ancient Lycian rock tombs that cannot fail to amaze and move you. The hiking trial is conveniently accessed right outside the retreat gate, allowing guests the freedom to choose between a long, challenging daily hike, or a shorter, alternative route with more time to relax and explore the local beaches and snorkelling coves. Healthy hiking snacks and lunches will be provided, and plenty of opportunities to replenish water flasks keeping carrying weight to a minimum.
Ease achy muscles, restore the body, and explore the healing power of movement with Natalie. Taught from an elevated, outdoor wooden platform with ocean views, Natalie will guide you on a diverse yoga and fitness journey over the course of the retreat with a special focus on improving joint mobility, core strength and spinal flexibility.
Yoga and Pilates is the perfect counterpart to hiking and facilitates important core muscle recruitment, stretching, and relaxation of the mind. Natalie’s approach to exercise reflects her passion for healing through movement and combines her love of Pilates, flow yoga, fitness, and restorative yoga.
Enjoy a delicious, plant-based menu consisting of abundant salads, vegetables, seasonal fruits, super food smoothies, and local fish. Traditional Turkish mezze is plentiful in vegetables, fresh salad, pulses, whole grains and flavourful herbs and spices. Guests will be nourished with protein smoothies, fermented pickles, home baked gluten free breads, local cheeses, local caught fish, eggs from chickens raised onsite, fresh herbal infusions (from herbs foraged or grown onsite) and delicious Turkish soups and stews.
The boat trip will take place mid-week on the rest day, where the only hiking required is a short walk to the nearest beach where a private boat will pick us up and take us on a fun excursion along the coastline culminating in a visit to ‘Paradise Beach’ (clue is in the title). Unreachable by foot, this pristine cove is only accessed by boat.
