Natalie from Sust! Health has spent more than 18 years in the fitness industry and 10 years specifically in the weight loss retreat industry. She became fascinated with the subject of weight loss after witnessing the deeply emotional fat loss struggles and frustrations experienced by thousands of people. Natalie combines her life-long passion for food, movement and health science to help people avoid the dreaded ‘yo yo diet rollercoaster’ and cut through to what ultimately yields results for the long term in a healthy and sustainable way.
Milly from ‘Move with Milly’ is a personal trainer, online health influencer, and an experienced manager and teacher in the weight loss retreat industry. She brings her passion and expertise in resistance training to the fat loss equation and is a strong advocator of the importance of building and maintaining muscle mass in the quest for optimal body composition. Milly is passionate about making resistance training accessible and enjoyable for all, and her ‘Ladies that Lift’ classes were an instant hit in the London gyms.
Strength training is the name of the game when it comes to body composition. Building and maintaining muscle mass is important for long-term health and longevity, but it plays an even more crucial role when it comes to losing fat. Milly will guide you through a series of short, simple, and balanced strength workouts throughout the weekend using basic equipment and body weight with the aim of igniting your enthusiasm for muscle-centric fitness, so you feel empowered and inspired to continue the journey.
Hiking is an incredible fat loss facilitator, especially the kind of hiking we do in North Devon! If you enjoy the outdoors and appreciate beautiful natural scenery then the North Devon coastline will capture your heart. Hikes will form the main part of the day on Saturday and Sunday and are between 4 and 8 miles long depending on your level. Spectacular views from the coastal paths, river trails and moorlands never fail to ensure that the hikes will be an absolute highlight of your retreat experience.
Cold dipping in wild swim spots are a magical and memorable part of the retreat, and often leave such a lasting impression on our guests that they become addicted to cold water swimming!
Yoga is the perfect activity to balance the more strenuous fitness activities of strength training and hiking. Gentle stretching, mobilisation and relaxation are exactly what is needed to unwind physically and mentally after a full day on retreat.
You can expect to enjoy an extremely nutrient dense, satiating menu that will crush cravings and leave you satisfied and energized whilst still ensuring you achieve a slight negative energy balance overall to facilitate fat burning. Organic, colourful plant foods combined with high quality animal food (fish, meat, eggs and dairy) form the basis of the ‘no frills’ Sust fat loss menu and ensures that the protein and nutrients required for sustainable and enjoyable fat loss are delivered in a simple and delicious way. Vegetarians and vegans are welcomed and will be served highly nutritious plant-based meals to achieve equally impressive results.
